The one thing I have noticed as I check out some of the best 2010 prospects as well as the prospects that we are going after is that Stanford is EVERYWHERE.... Last year they got Nunes, and I think Harbaugh is doing a great job of trying to get there name out there... I know this is wishful thinking, but hopefully Stanford and UCLA can help balance out some of power that USC has had over the past decade in southern california area... If that happens and Miami and Fla. State can get there act together then all will be right in the world of college recruiting

UCLA has the gayest colors/uniforms...even worse than Bama. Stanford's high academic requirements hurt them much like Vandy.
There's enough quality players in CA to go around. The population in SoCal alone is the size of TN, GA, NC, KY, VA, Miss...

you also have to understand that Stanford can offer 10000 kids and if they commit, Stanford can also say "opps, you did not qualify to get into Stanford, so best of luck elsewhere"

They are more smoke than fire...

Are you being sarcastic? I moved from the Nashville area to SoCal about a year ago, and yes way. :)
There is more than 20 million in SoCal alone (not hard to believe, Mexico City actually has over 33 million)

haha yea chill:neener2:

the pop of Georgia is almost 10 million

oh and btw how do you like it out there?

Say what you want but Stanford is going after the top kids whereas 5 years ago they weren't....Also performed probably one of the most shocking upsets in the past decade a few years ago (2007 i think?)

You regularly say stupid crap, but the UCLA colors comment is one of your all time greats.

Stanford has never prevented a student-athlete from being admitted for a major sport bc "he wasn't smart enough to get into Stanford.". Stanford is arguably the best school in the country, but it has never taken a proactive stance, a la Vanderbilt or Duke, to require students to independently qualify for admission to the university. That's a major reason why Stanford is at least competitive year in and year out, whereas Vanderbilt plays dead 70 percent of the time. And I'm not criticizing them for it, hell, I'm still pissed that Ron Mercer wasn't admitted to Vandy and that was 10 years ago.

This thread is retarded. Why would we want there to be more power in Cali? We need those teams to stay bad.

That post is retarded. Why would we not want more teams in California to be good and thus challenge USC as being the year in and year out recruiting powerhouse? I mean hell, they are so confident right now that they have the best players in the nation competing just to get a scholarship....
