KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee senior forward Jemere Hendrix has been dismissed from the university, athletic director Mike Hamilton announced Monday night.
Hendrix was charged with marijuana possession and driving without a license in August in Covington, Ga.
No further information was provided by the university. It was not clear Monday night if the dismissal was related to the arrest or another incident.
Also mentioned in the release were the dismissal of football player Daniel Brooks and the indefinite suspension of basketball forward Andre Patterson.
Hendrix was arrested Aug. 13, according to Newton County Sheriff's records. He was booked into the jail just before midnight and released shortly thereafter on $1,780 bond.
Hendrix walked on at Tennessee after leaving Clemson with a foot injury in 2002. Last season, he played in 28 games and averaged 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds.
Brooks had been suspended for the first three football games of the season following his arrest and guilty plea to a charge of driving without a license.
