That's one way to look at it..

I know...just random, outloud thoughts.

It's much more fun to dog out everybody else, instead of our own team.

Oh well...sigh...

Our problem is that it's been so long since we truly sucked that none of us know what to do.

That would be a nice problem to have....

I dont have that problem....if you need help I know some good counselors....where is Frasier Crane when you need him?

But it's not like we have been undefeated every year. I would say we are pretty used to losing to UGA, UF, Auburn, LSU etc. It's just that this year, the other teams have been beating us too. Plus we were ranked so high. That's the real problem. Last year could have easily been this year. Of course, I'm telling everyone things they already know so I'll shut up. :ermm:

2002, while not a losing season, was still pretty bad. In fact, I dunno if that team was any better that year than this year. That team just had an easier schedule on the back end than this year.

But whatever...I'm just tired of talking about helmetgate, cell phones on the sideline, people fighting at the movie theater, etc.

Exactly . . . It's bad enough that we've underperformed against a buzzsaw of a schedule. It would be a lot easier to take if not for all the dysfunctional crap that is going on.

I agree..lets discuss something more relevant...since UT wears orange which you traditionally wear hunting...if you invite Phil out hunting and a ............oh nevermind...bad idea

But would the bad season have happened if we didn;t have the dysfunctional crap?

Therein lies the question of this entire season...

My analogy is "You know how doctors become accustomed to dealing with stressful situations from years of experience". Since we have very little experience coping with stressful situations, (from Vols losing) our bodies have to learn. Therfore explaining your crappy feeling. Humor is good!

Jim Donnan 1996-2000 40-19

I had no problem with him.....I was kinda surprised when they ran him...granted we could not beat the big three but who in hell can consistantly?

I agree. Donnan was not that bad especially in light of the mess Ray Goff made. He just rubbed some people the wrong way.

When was the last time you guys had a losing season? Donnan's first year?

yep...but remember Dooley had a few..in 1979 (6-5-0) and remember the 1980 squad.....so quick turn arounds are possible

As I think about it, I'm pretty sure that Florida is the only team in the SEC that hasn't had a losing season in the past 8-10 years . . .

Dooley was a god....and the information age had not begun....I have heard some bad rumors about the night in New Orleans after the Sugar Bowl but I can not prove or diprove them..I think we hear alot more about these problems because of all the media outlets available...Reporters dig for scoops now and beat wriers from one school try to find dirt on others...

Good point about the media.

I wasn't talking so much about the off the field problems, but they do seem to coincide. But you can't be undisciplined on the field and win a championship.
