You know the Ktown press, Mike Strange specifically, predicted the Vols would lose at least three games. It is a brutal schedule.

However, if you would have told them that we would hold Fla to 16 points they would have predicted a win.

I'm just saying. Members of this volnation said some very unkind things when I posted the unbiased look at the vols. Most of their retorts were simply 'Vols rule', 'You suck' and other enlightened trite expressions.

I'm sorry but 1 loss to Florida does not mean instant 3rd place, there is still alot of football to be played by all teams so let's wait to pat yourself on the back until it all shakes out.

I never agreed with him. I still dont. There is no way his stupid theory has anything to do with the 05 season. If the VOLS go 11-1 this season, and end up in the Rose bowl, is Volman going to discredit his theory?

I didnt think so. :biggrin2:

I have had it with all the TEAM bashing. If you were told constantly how much you were going to fail and how bad you are after ONE mistake-do you honestly think that you would do better the next time. Lets give this team some hope and encouragement. It is almost like some of you want this team to LOSE (I am speaking of vol fans here-not other SEC schools) so you can say I told you so. I am headed to BR if there is a game (barring another hurricane in that area). I am cheering on my team like they are 2-0. I am going to be a fan even if thery are 0-10. I love the Vols. I live for this time of year. I am happy to be alive and have a home. I say, lets go and get 'em Vols and prove the nation wrong!

My, my, with regard to that statement, I feel a delicacy in articulating that which I cannot fully substantuate fearing to create an erroneous impression in your unsophisticated mind. Perhaps you'd rather take your comments and endulge yourself on a more analytical, less fan based board. That way, your feelings won't be subjected to the unintillectually low level of commentary from us commoners. You'll have to excuse us if we typically spend all week in stressful jobs and like to take out celebration as well as frustration on our team of choice. Or perhaps your motive for comment is driven by your own inadequacies in life and because you are typically incorrect in most situations the one time you do manage to get it right, your urge to impress others is overwhelming and that's why you're here. :tease2:

Just some recent history.... last season the Vols had a humiliating 34-10 loss at home to Auburn... where Ainge threw 4 interceptions.... then the Vols and Ainge went on the road ... and when nobody in the nation gave them a chance.... beat Georgia 19-14. The Vols went on to finish the SEC slate at 7-1 and represent the East in the SECCG.

You really havent shown any reason though, why this team shouldnt be at least as good as last years teams was. The majority of the starting line-up on both sides of the ball returned, and the positions we did lose starters, we had lots of depth.

allvol, thanks for the much needed snap back to reality. One game a season doesn't make, you obviously don't need to look too far back in history.
