Those younger Vol fans who were not here in the 90's, in the days of Peyton and Tee, who, during all those years out in the weeds, wonder what those years felt like...

The way THIS season has gone..and last night's No.1 ranking...

THIS is what it felt like.

I an savoring and wallowing in this feeling.

My son was born in March of 1999. So, he vaguely remembers 2007ish when we were semi relevant...and he's off the charts excited because he's just seen me every preseason with my orange colored glasses saying "this is the year we get back". In 1998, we were good, and everyone knew it...but we also had some lucky bounces of the ball, which most every team has that wins a NC...and, I'm not so sure, if we keep winning, that this won't end up feeling like 1998. I don't remember that we were up in the top tier early in the season but kept winning. I've always thought that when we got it all together with the right coach, we'd leapfrog to the top. UT hasn't been good in the social media era, and we're seeing the power of UT brand rocking at full throttle now. Win or lose vs UGA...playoffs or not...we're back in the game, and it's exciting to be back in the party.

Maybe now "Gimme that Rocky Top Tennesse" will find its was BACK into the Big & Rich opening for College Game Day. For the first time in years they are at least showing a few clips from this year. Yes, I was hurt and insulted when they rewrote the lyrics and dropped us from the song from any opening clips.
