I seem to dress as if I'm going to the game just to watch it. I have to have a toothpick in my mouth to bite down on from being nervous, or a drink with lots of ice to chew. The fourth quarter when we are on the verge of winning a big one is miserable until the final gun.

When I'm watching on TV and things start going bad, I hate to admit it, but I will switch seats or stand up to change the karma....:D

Have a football handy to hold on to. This always helps the backs hold the ball.

Have lots of ice cold classic Coke, Tostitos and dip.

Place a bed sheet under my friend Danny (he spills everything he touches).

Give the wife the checkbook and send her shopping.

I see we all have some in common. I gotta have my bud light ice cold....fresh can of copenhagen snuff. I'm almost constantly adjusting my cap....backwards when things are slow...forward when its good...and on the floor when things are going great or terrible. My wife tells me...'you realize they cant hear you , dont you honey?'

I'm awful about doing that, both at the game and when I'm watching. I spend a lot of time on high school sidelines, so my first reflex is to always yell out whatever I see: SCREEN! DRAW! COVER 2! TRAP! WATCH THE WHEEL! CHECK THE FLAT! TIGHT END!

The people around me can get annoyed, but they are at least well informed as to what is about to happen. :D

Hey don't worry. Once I told someone to turn a lamp back on because I thought it would change the luck. :victory:

I think it was during the UGA game last year.

Great Topic!
I knew i wasnt the only one that does some strange things at home during the game.

I dress for the game that am.

Have changed jerseys at half to swing the momentum.

Do not allow any non game chit chat unless its a commercial break.

I prepare a huge pregame dinner, If my guests want to munch on left overs thats fine. Do not ask me if id like some. Im to nervous to eat, besides how can one yell at the tv with their mouth full?

I keep the VOL Network playing in the bathroom, If you must use the restroom Do Not announce it, Just go......

If the phone rings...Let John Ward answer it! :biggrin2:

I cannot describe the feeling when we are leading on the road in a huge game as the clock is ticking towards zero left in the 4th. I am so scared of us screwing up or the other team waking up I can't stand it. Last year the entire 2nd half of the UGA game was the most miserable I have ever been, I nearly threw up and had the runs during the 4th Quarter. It was awful...
BUT..............the feeling when those games are over and we have come out on top...it is like a relief, I mean...my shirt is sweaty, I'm shaking, I seriously think I have a horrible sickness that goes along with my Vol watching.

We always have the pride of the southland band cd in the stereo....and play different songs during the game....call it crazy but thats what we like to do.

Pride of the Southland CD as I fix a big bunch of grub (chili, gumbo, Gator, etc.). ONLY Tennessee bourbon. And on Gameday, it's Gentleman. If you want something different, go somewhere else. Plenty of mid-game snacks.

Attire is definitely O&W, including the boxers. And watch. And sandals.

LOTS of yelling and jumping around. The cap moves around a good bit -- even known to go sideways for rally-time. The dogs hide under the bed because the only other time I raise my voice is if they have done their business in the house.

Post-game celebration involves good music, crappy pool, and a few stray darts. If it's a big win, I'll even give you my acoustic rendition of Rocky Top.

No cap here... Except for beanies, I look terrible in hats.

Basically, just sit in my good ol' lay-z-boy with a few cold beverages at hand (my being underage will not allow me to say what kind), maybe some chips. I'm usually too busy watching the game to eat anything more than chips.

That's all on the side table though. I need clearance in front or behind me, as I am constantly moving around. Hunched over behind my recliner if I am nervous or standing in front of it when I am excited. Leaning back when I am dissappointed, hunching forward with interest. And I will usually end up on the ground 2 or 3 times during the course of a game

My pregame rituals include ( but are not limited to) cleaning the house like crazy the night before, so no guilty thoughts of laundry waiting to be done can break my concentration, getting the whole family dressed in something O&W, having the pre-game show then the game playing on EVERY single TV in the house, usually muted with the Vol Network calling the game, having orange and white shakers with the name of some Knoxville gas company on them lying around for anyone to grab and cheer with , and the phone ringing off the hook as my other Vol friends call to comment on how the Vols will do. The phone is off during the game, so they have to call me before it starts. I make sure the VCR is set and I'm ready to watch the greatest team on the face of the earth - THE TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS!!!

Well, that came from the same woman who listens to Rocky Top on her record player. What do you expect?

If I can't make it to the game, I'm usually at my favorite bar watching, or at home with a cold one cracked open.

I always dress up as if I where going to the game, as well.

Prior to the real game being played, I always wax our opponent on NCAA Football.

I get up in the morning, watch College Gameday on ESPN, read the preview in the Tennessean, then turn on Kesling and co., and sometimes listen to them with the actual game muted.

Agree with a previous poster as well; if we start losing, I start drinking . . .

I also have about 4 friends in my Vol Circle that will call at halftime and at the end of the game. One, in particular will call to bitch and offer his genious solutions for every problem. What's funny is this particular friend of mine, who I love so dear..........after the first Auburn game last year he said "I'm not making these trips any more like I used to man, it's not worth it...I"m tired of this crap" The very next week after the UGA beating, you would have thought he was going to drive to Ktown that night to sleep in the stadium and wait for the next home game.

Hi Guys....I am brand new here, and think I have finally found a site to waste ALL my time. I grew up Pure Orange out in Dyersburg, and have since moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia/Maryland, well out of college football territory. But, I am Trying to convert people (much like a missionary in an unholy land).

I am out of VolNetwork range, and since I got Digital Cable I can't do the Mute/Watch thing for any game, because of 7 second delays (thank you Janet Jackson). so, I am stuck on ALL gamedays with the horsecrap TV announcers. but I still have Gameday routines... Showering Just before Pre-game, Jersey, Beer if I'm not going out afterward...Loud Profanities and soft projectiles (wife bought me little stuffed footballs Just for throwing at the TV)
