Mine is easy, the death of the INTIMIDATOR. I kinda felt like a part of my family died or something. Nascar will never be the same with him gone. I for one will never forget Dale Earnhardt and there will never be another one like him. LONG LIVE #3

That's a rather somber #1 for me as well.

Other moments...

1998 Daytona 500
2001 Pepsi 400 at Daytona

Music City Miracle was huge... so was getting stopped at the one yard line in Super Bowl XXXIV

1999 Fiesta Bowl

High School football game between Portland and Livingston Academy in 2004. A lot of hype went into that game as it meant a lot to the Region standings at the time... turned out to be the best football game I've ever watched live. LA won 26-23 in overtime.

Two more high school football games... state semi-finals game this year between LA and Notre Dame. LA was down 34-20 with a couple minutes left in the third quarter, and won 48-34. Won the state title in the next game, 28-13.

The second that I realized from my Upper deck seat that Carlos Baerga's deep fly ball was going to stay in the park and the Braves were going to win the World Series.

well shoot now that I think about it I have a couple that i personally experinced. lets see beating trinity christian 22-21 and yours truly caught the two point conversion with no time left on the clock to ruin there perfect season...

lets see there is also watching steve mcnair scramble for the game winning td aginst j-ville last year, i was at that game, it was intense for me and my friends..

also getting 7th in the state last year in the 4x800 relay was a good one for me...

The most dissappointing sports moment I will never forget:

Portland's 4th quarter collapse against Los Angeles in game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals. It resulted in the firing of Mike Dunleavy (hands-down the worst move the Portland Trail Blazers have EVER made, worse even than not picking Michael Jordan in the draft).

The best sports moment I will never forget:

I remember watching the McGwire vs. Sosa home run race. That was amazing to see.

Gymnastics, tumbling I think. Walked into Chistie's Cabaret on 8th Ave. in Nashville and as soon as I sat down a stripper came towards me, did a cartwheel, and landed with a leg slung over each of my shoulders (no undies in case you care).

The guy at Soldier Field (?) jumping out catching the extra point.

Man, there's too many to remember. The one that stands out the most was in 1999 in Atlanta at Turner Field- Braves vs. Brewers and catching a foul ball in the stands. Now, that's awesome! :clapping: :dance2:  What's the chance of that happening? :eek:k:

1) The death of Swede Savage at Indy in 1973. By far one of the most horrifying thing's I've ever witnessed.

2) The death of Davey Allison.

3) The death of Neil Bonnet after his triumphant return from tragedy.

4) Steve Bartman!

That would be my pick too. It's still hard to believe that he is really gone. Like you said, it was like losing a member of the family.

Losing Dale was the most upsetting for me.

Sid Bream scoring in the btm. of the 9th to put the Braves in the Series in 91(?). From worst to first in 1 year.

1998: Clint Stoerner laying the ball on the ground, giving us one of those breaks that all championship teams need at least once or twice.

1998: Dwayne Goodrich jumping Peter Warrick's route for the pick 6.

2001: The Army-Navy Game in Philadelphia. For those of you who have never attended an Army-Navy Game, being in that stadium (especially 2 months post 9-11) is one of the most electric sporting events I've ever been a part of. (And I have had season tickets to the Vols since 2002.)
