If TN finishes with the #1 recruiting class, how will it impact your view of Kiffin?

What if it is top 3?

What if it is top 5 but 3rd in the SEC?

What if it was towards the bottom of the top 10?

I am curious as to how you all perceive Kiffin as a recruiter and our staff as a recruiting staff.

I have never doubted Monte as a defensive coach, I have never doubted Orgeron as a motivator or as a recruiter and evaluator of talent, but I have had my doubts about Lance Thompson who has not gotten anyone of note at this point, and Willie Mack Garza who has also come up with nothing.

I think by NSD most of us will be incredibly thrilled by the finish UT has. I think this will be the last year that anyone can doubt any of our coaches as the best overall recruiting staff in CFB. I could recruit at Alabama or Florida or Texas or even LSU and pull a fair number, but we have the best staff in CFB for recruiting and we need it based on our rivals and our lack of in state talent.

I specifically mention Garza and LT because I think there are surprises brewing that they have a hand in. I also think UGA will have its class gutted and we will benefit a great deal with guys like Whittaker, G Smith and Robey.

It doesn't matter what the ranking is. The only thing that matters is what the staff can do with them on the field.

Im pretty sure the staff has gone a different direction...

My opinion of the staff as recruiters will not be changed one way or another by rankings. Do they get the players they need to win the East in 2011 and the SECCG in 2012? Those are the results that interest me, not UT's class ranking according to Whoever.com.

I am not interested in any rankings. All that matters is will they get the right players to win the East in 2011 and the SEC in 2012? That is more important than the "Whoever.com" class ranking.

Rankings have meant very little to us. The 2005 Frosh class was #1 coming in. It's all about addressing needs and developing the talent you do get.

Great.

I'm just waiting to see how they "orchestrate" the media this year. You have to beleive it's coming.

I love CLK and the staff no matter where we finish in recruiting! Once they get their players in here, no matter what their star rating is, we will get to see how they coach up their own players vs players Philly recruited!

wow great info in this thread, if you are from Mt. Carmel.

someone needs to get their panties out of a wad...I just north east of MC in Bristol...lol...I think we will have a top 8 or 9 recruiting class...the difference with this coaching staff is that they know how to coach the players that they bring in...we have had top 5 classes before but our staff did not develop them...Go VOLS!

Don't doubt Lance...He is our main connection Georgia and Memphis...Kippy will more than likely take over Memphis since he played there...to say that Lance has not got anyone of note is absurd...

no need to be a smart a$$.just nice to know you could meet up with another volnation guy if you have a chance:good!:

There's nothing wrong with two dudes trying to hook up with one another, however, it's typically confined to the recruiting forums.

Orgeron is almost irreplaceable. You see since he's been gone from USC they have degressed and Ole Miss will do the same. It sucks that we will only have him for one more year but I will support him wherever he goes because he has given his all for UT.
