First off I believe we will go undefeated and finish #1 in the country in the regular season!Probably face Alabama again in the SECCG.We should be ranked #1 in this Tuesday's first playoff Ranking but just say we do lose a very close game at Georgia this week,do you think we would drop out of the top four in the Playoff Ranking?We play weak teams in Mizzou,South Carolina and Vanderbilt to finish the regular season.If we drop out of the top 4 in the Ranking I don't believe we can get back in with beating these 3 weak teams unless Georgia,Ohio State,Clemson,Michigan and TCU are beaten also.What do you think?

IMO, the only scenario where UT gets in with one loss is to make the CG and lose in a close game. I don't think UT gets in if they lose to UGA under any circumstance.

Well prepare yourself then bc they would. Clemson and/or TCU needs to lose. TCU has a chance, Clemson really doesn’t unless they’re worse than I think they are. Convinced the top five teams in the country are in two conferences and we can split hairs arguing who is the best right now. I know for a fact any of those five would curb stomp Clemson currently.

If we lose to Georgia, they need to win the SECCG. I can see UT getting in over Bama or LSU.

This will be the only time I will be pulling for South Carolina. The Clemson team has been a pretender all season. That Syracuse win isn't looking so good after they were manhandled by ND

If we lose, hands down, we need teams to lose. We cannot leap frog an undefeated champion.

I think the season isn't over yet. I think we now have a target on our back, as a consequence, all remaining opponents are gunning for us. Kentucky was just the first to give it a shot. I think there's going to be a whole lot of shaking going on around here.

I do not understand how losing to the number 1 team at their place, in a close game, would kick us back any. It shouldn't.

I would think it would validate our place in the rankings.

We really need to just best Georgia but let’s say we lose. We need it to be close. The closer the better.

We then need Georgia to best Bama or LSU. Best case there is LSU gets in the championship and loses to Georgia.

Michigan and Ohio state will work itself out.

Need Clemson to lose a game. Any game.

TCU needs to lose too but even if they don’t we could still stand a shot.

Those my age and up know that in ‘98 it not only took some miracles to go undefeated but also took someone losing to get in.

Win or lose I’m tickled with the progress but I’m gonna be one happy man if we beat Georgia.

If we lose to UGA, I think we're out unless some of the other unbeaten teams get a loss along the way. Having said that, if we do lose to uga and uga beats bama combined with some of the aforementioned unbeatens getting upset, I think we could back into the playoffs. That might be to our advantage. We'd be rested and healed up. We'd also have our game film vs uga plus what they do vs bama to study and scheme for should we get uga in the playoffs. Frankly, I think the committee will do everything within their power to avoid an all SEC championship. No way will they allow 3 SEC teams in the playoffs. I think they'd prefer to see uga beat us then bama so they can limit the SEC to a single team in the final 4. They'd love some new blood in the playoffs.

TCU is not gonna make it boys. They are third fiddle (at best) in their own city.

With all apologies to Jim Mora Sr we are talking playoffs here now. TCU is a fine program, but they just DO NOT have the eyeballs. After the Cincy debacle last year and with things still at 4 teams the committee needs a homerun.

Let me introduce you to the Vols. They may win, they may lose in the playoffs. Who knows. Either way, chances are that game is gonna end like 59-58 and have people glued to their seats

The committee knows this. TCU knows this. They will whine and complain and honestly I would feel kind of bad for them.

As much as I hate to say it, we are what we are. Exciting. The committee needs us just as much as we need them.

I do think they are an excellent team and this is a big argument for why the playoffs need expanding, but there is no competition if it comes down between them and us in terms of who gets picked.

This is basically a elimination game this weekend. Only way UT would get back into the mix is with another Bama lose. Bama has to be eliminated from the equation at that point..

What if Georgia beats Bama, Clemson loses, and TCU loses? Bama is out. You would have Ohio St/Mich winner, Georgia, and then a few teams with 1 loss, including us. We would most likely have the best resume of any of those teams. They would almost have to include us. If TCU and Clemson win out then yeah, we would be left out, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.
