Now that we have had ample time to see how the new rule changes affect our beloved game of football what is everyones thought? I do not like the game being shortened and hope that that rule is reversed next year.
Think how many more yards Ainge would have. The longer the game goes the bigger advantage we have, I believe.

The clock starting on possession changes really does nothing but make the trailing team call an extra timeout. I think it's a goofy rule.

The replay system needs to be blown up as well. I'd be in favor of going to the NFL challenge system and getting rid of the booth reviews altogether. The replay booth is affecting the way officials call games.

I think it is a way for tv to get in more commercials. it seems that the time frame of the game is about the same with less plays.

I agree with dumping the replay system. It seems as if some of the officials on the field are depending on the replay official to make the call, instead of confirming the call on the field. The NFL challenge system is better.

I honestly haven't noticed a difference or think about the clock rules during the game until the broadcasters start jabbering on about it.

Replay system leaves a little more to be desired.

I think they should overhaul the new clock rules and replay rules in the offseason. It would make more sense to keep the clock running after making a first down rather than the way they have changed the rules. They should also go to the NFL replay system.

I don't care for the changes, but they have added a sense of urgency to playcalling that has been very beneficial to UT.

it benefits defenses...like us against Bama. i loved the clock rules then.

but by and large, the new clock rules are a joke. the time it takes a game to be played hasn't changed, just the number of plays in a game.

for the most part, i think we have done a pretty good job of adjusting to it though.

as for replay...the challenge is basically worthless since every play is reviewed....how many times have we seen a coach go to challenge a call, and before he dose, the ref is saying no challenge, it's being reviewed anyway? and for those that say if there weren't a challenge, offenses will just go run a play, how many have actually gotten off before the replay booth called down? i can't recall very many, if any at all. give the coaches 1 challenge per half, and if it is not overturned, you lose a time out.

The change sucks. Less plays, more commercial time. But, we all know what the world revolves around today - money. It really hurts teams late in the ballgame. You might want to start callin it the 3 minute drill for college. I hope they change it next year. The simple solution is letting the clock run on first downs, just like the NFL. I think that, and the combination of more tv timeouts is the whole reason for college games being so long. I also feel that replay needs to be like the NFL as well.

the clock rules suck. i hope they get rid of it all together.

as for replay i am not that upset with it. i dont want them to go to the nfl rules and make coaches decide what should be reviewed and what shouldnt. thats just one more decision for phil to screw up. obviously his mind is taxed enough in the game. that and nfl officials are better trained and better paid than college officials. there are only 16 nfl games a week and how many college games, like 50 or 60? obviously there is gonna be a serious talent drop off in officiating, so they need replay more in college.

i think in the long run the replay rules will prove to be sufficient and the clock rules will be proven to ruin the ends of games.

NCAA never ceases to amaze me. Here you have NCAA football at its all time high and what do they do? Shorten the game! Now there is some logic for you!
