With YouTube TV, our goal is to offer you the content you love, delivered the way you want it. To make this happen, we enter into agreements with network partners to make their content available on YouTube TV. As such, we’ve been negotiating with Paramount to reach a fair agreement that allows us to keep their channels, including CBS, on YouTube TV without compromising the value of our service. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to reach an agreement.

On February 13, 2025, all Paramount channels will likely become unavailable on YouTube TV. If this happens, this will impact previous Library recordings from these channels, Paramount content in the Entertainment Plus package, and add-on services like Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and BET+. Should Paramount content become unavailable, we will continue to update our Help Center with the latest.

We know how frustrating and disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy on YouTube TV, and we’re committed to providing you with the best possible entertainment experience. That’s why we’ll continue advocating on your behalf to offer you more flexibility in how you watch your favorite sports and shows while preserving the value of our service. It’s our goal to restore Paramount content to YouTube TV, but if we do not come to an agreement and their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we'll offer our YouTube TV subscribers an $8 credit. You can still watch Paramount shows and movies by signing up for their streaming service, Paramount+, starting at $7.99/month. For more information on how we’re addressing our Paramount+, BET+, and Entertainment Plus subscribers, please visit our Help Center.

We hope YouTube TV continues to be your service of choice, but we understand some of our members may want to cancel their subscriptions. As always, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime. You can find more information in our Help Center.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work towards a fair agreement with Paramount. As always, we sincerely appreciate your YouTube TV membership.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team

They will discount $8.00? So how much does it actually cost for Paramount channels per subscriber?

Aggregators (cable, satellite, OTP) are pressed on all sides. The costs of content are going up, content providers want higher fees. Aggregators feel limited in their ability to pass increased costs to consumers already at pain points for entertainment. Their thin hope in these disputes with content providers is that consumers will pressure content providers to reach an equitable deal.

With the splintering of content delivery into provider apps across devices, attrition in aggregators’ subscriptions is inevitable. Increasing costs force aggregators to increase subscription prices, inducing consumers to look for alternatives. Many have gone to apps plus digital antenna for local broadcast stations.

Honestly, to me, the future for aggregators looks bleak. Only if consumers grow weary of the increasing number of apps and separate charges will aggregators have a reprieve from oblivion.

I agree. It’s got to fracture. Appointment television other than sports just doesn’t exist anymore.

I wired our new house with coax and installed a digital antennae with an amp that feeds the entire house, so when AT&T gets into a P^&*ing match we just go old school. Funny thing is Mrs Wireless noticed that that broadcast is "faster"/earlier than the streams and never seems to freeze.
I'm about to talk myself into saving some money.

I split YouTube TV with 2 buddies. So we only pay roughly $25 each.

Really this is the only way it's worth it

yeah I won't miss it until the fall. but even then it will just be the Big 10 games.

they previously had a disagreement with ESPN and I lost service for like a week before they fixed it. so it may not be the end if it does drop.

Does ESPN app provide every game they carry live?

When carriage isn’t interrupted, YouTube TV allows me to multiview up to four games on various channels. I’ll do this until one game captures my interest or the Vols game is live. Sports is a driver for aggregators.

CBS has part of the NCAA tournament, so YouTube TV needs to settle their dispute with Paramount soon.
You Tube TV is squeezed hard, IMO, and will cave.

CBS has March Madness AND The Masters which is a lot of viewers in the next couple of months and covers younger and older demographics. They'll pay up.
