That would be in line with what I was told about Villanova wanting him to be qualified before he signs an LOI. If Pearl wants to win this one, he really needs to put the hard sell on to get Pinkston locked up in the early period. The longer his recruitment goes on, the more likely he is to stay relatively local.

son of a gun. i thought it was looking like he had cooled on them since he didnt visit and came here and what not. i was really hoping for a pinkston and harris package deal for an early christmas present. wishful thinking, i know, but dang. its not over, go lock him up!

It's so easy for players in the northeast corridor to jump on a train and get to any of the Big East schools, I never read much into when they do or do not show up as scheduled. Pearl's got a week to get Pinkston in the fold. After that, he's running uphill.

I know the early signing period starts next week, but is there a deadline period? Or just one or two days you can sign?

It's going to be hard to pull Harris and Pinkston. I know they're both showing interest and there are reports that Tennessee is in good shape, but it's going to take a miracle IMO.

Bruce shouldn't place all his bets in the northeastern region of the country like this...

All that thread was about was Harris taking an official visit to West Virginia. It's already happened. Not sure how there's any karma involved.

Rev's talking about popcorn's thread in the recruiting forum where he claimed "looks like Tobias to WVU" because of a few quotes from Torrel.

You should check it out. Popcorn displays his superior logical reasoning skills.

I read somewhere that Tobias enjoyed WVU but Torrel didn't? I don't see how true that is considering his dad doesn't come off as the type that would bad mouth any school (giving his response to EVERYONE). This sucks about Pinkston though. I agree with not putting all your chips on the Northeast. Seems like it would be almost impossible to steal great players from there when you factor in a tough and very appealing Big East Conference. I agree with Hat though...If we don't lock this kid up now then he will not be coming to Tennessee.

Getting a kid from NYC over a school in Philadelphia with a NYC-connected coach like Wright is a Hurculean task. The fact that we had him come to UT on his own dime twice and Pearl took time during practice to visit NYC last week says we've done about as much as we can do thus far. Hopefully, it will work out for us. I still think, if Pinkston decides to sign in the early signing period, it will be good news for us.
