Tennessee offered 4-star athlete Ryan Davis on Thursday, according to his Twitter. “@thaRD5 Just Officially been Offered by University of Tennessee they also came by today #Blessed #SEC #VOLS,” Davis wrote.
According to ESPN’s evaluation, he projects as a wide receiver or cornerback at the next level. “STRENGTHS: A good decision maker who shows the ability to deliver the ball on time when he can see the field. Is able to pull the ball down and make plays with his feet. Possesses adequate throwing mechanics and quick release while executing the offense with confidence. He is a dynamic running threat with feet, speed and change-of-direction. … AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT: Is dramatically undersized for the position. Throwing mechanics need some work. Tends to push the ball at times causing the ball to lack good trajectory. Accuracy is a bit erratic and concern is the ability to put the ball in a tight window. … BOTTOM LINE: Davis is a playmaker who could remain under center in a shotgun based spread scheme. However, his size leads us to believe he will end up moving to wide receiver or corner for the next level. He is a really explosive athlete with open field run skills“.
Listed at 5-foot-10 and 161 pounds, Davis has offers from FSU, Miami, Nebraska, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
