- Someone forgot to tell Donnie Tyndall that you aren’t supposed to be able to recruit talented basketball players in May. Tyndall has now inked three signees since arriving on April 22nd, the latest of which, Detrick Mostella, is a highly regarded four-star shooting guard and a top 50 player overall. And according to Chris Dortch, editor of the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, there’s more to come.
- Tennessee basketball will host Kansas State in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge on December 6th.
- Phil Cofer has eliminated Georgia Tech from contention and will choose between Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Florida State.
- Tennessee has offered 2015 Georgia Stars power forward Noah Dickerson.
VOLS FOOTBALL
- 15 JUCO DT David “DJ” Jones is scheduled to visit Tennessee on Saturday.
- Tennessee coaches visited with ’15 IN LB Darrin Kirkland Jr. yesterday.
- Rivals Top 100 ’15 AZ ATH Christian Kirk will visit Tennessee sometime during the last week of May.
- ’15 VA WDE Josh Sweat lists Tennessee as one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.
- Tennessee target ’15 CT TE Chris Clark is now rated the top tight end in the country, according to Scout.
- Alden Hill is transferring to James Madison and Pig Howard must attend May miniterm if he hopes to return to the team.
- Senior walk-on Jacob Gilliam from Farragut will likely be put on scholarship, according to Butch Jones.
- Four-star ’15 GA OLB/RB Eric Swinney will decide between Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss on May 16th.
- Tennessee coaches visited with ESPN 300 offensive tackle Matt Burrell on Tuesday.
VOLS BASEBALL
- Tennessee baseball dropped from the 20s to 41 overnight after Tuesday night’s loss to UNC Ashville.
