Former Southern Miss signee Willie Carmichael will announce his college decision on Tuesday. “Award ceremony Tonight, and Basketball banquet tomorrow plus I will be announcing where I will be going to school,” the 6-foot-7 power forward tweeted yesterday.
Carmichael, from Apopka, Florida, originally signed with Donnie Tyndall at Southern Miss, but requested and was granted a release from his letter of intent on May 5th. He will decide between Tennessee, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida Atlantic and Alabama.
The Vols are the consensus favorite to land Carmichael.
“I figured if Coach Tyndall would give me a call, I figured that would be the best option for where I would end up,” Carmichael said. “The reason I committed there (Southern Miss) was the coaching staff. I fell in love with them.”
