Tennessee commit Alvin Kamara continues to put up impressive numbers this season at Hutchinson Community College. Last week against Iowa Central, the 5-11, 207-pound tailback rushed for a season-high 171 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries. Tuesday, he was named the Jayhawk Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.
Last week during a local radio interview, Rob Cassidy from Rivals.com provided his take on Kamara, whom he had recently watched in person
“He’s the same guy he was in high school. There’s a reason why he was a celebrated recruit coming out of high school. He’s just physically superior right now.”
“He’s their entire offense. He can be their entire offense. The first snap of the game he took for 35 yards and he kinda kept that up all game. He was a big reason they were able to win that game.”
“If there’s a knock on him it’s that it’s almost too easy for him at this level to bounce the ball outside. So you don’t really see the patience and you don’t see him waiting for holes to open up, because if it doesn’t open up right away he’s the kind of guy that can just beat everybody to the edge in junior college and outrun them down the field. Besides that, he’s the same physically superior back he was in high school.”
Cassidy also noted that Kamara catches the ball really well in space, which allows him to create. He has an impressive first step and can get up to full speed in a hurry, Cassidy said.

A real difference maker in the backfield.
Thanks for the comment voldawgforever. I’m really looking forward to seeing this kid in orange.
I can’t wait to see him play for the Vols either
