Peyton Manning has record-breaking day

“#Manning,” the Denver Broncos official Twitter account posted on Sunday afternoon, after Peyton Manning joined Brett Farve as the only two NFL quarterbacks to throw 500 touchdown passes.

For the game, Manning completed 31 of 47 with a career-high 479 yards passing and four touchdowns. After finishing the day with 503 career touchdown passes, he needs five more to tie Farve’s record of 508.

His most at Tennessee? Manning threw for 523 yards at Kentucky in 1997.

As if that weren’t enough, Manning also:

  • Tied his personal record for longest TD pass with an 86-yard touchdown pass to DeMaryius Thomas. (his longest at Tennessee was 80 yards, which he managed twice)
  • Threw his 119th touchdown pass in the fourth quarter or overtime, putting him one ahead of Brett Farve for the all-time lead.
  • Tied Dan Marino’s record by throwing for at least 400 yards 13 times.
  • Threw a touchdown pass in his 43rd consecutive game, which is currently fourth all time.
