JONES COMMENTS ON MILLER AND PAYNE LEAVING THE PROGRAM
After a few days of rumors and rumblings, Butch Jones commented officially on Jaylen Miller and D’Andre Payne leaving the team.
“Jaylen Miller, we will help him find a place where he feels he can play. Same way with D’Andre Payne. We’ll help them and wherever they feel they can play, we’ll help them.
“But, again, I’m proud of these players. Let’s make sure we understand that. Everyone wants to talk about other things but there’s a reason we are here and it’s the efforts of these football players and they’ve done a tremendous job. It’s all about the bowl experience. When we set forth in August, our goal was to become a bowl football team and to win a bowl game. To be playing in the TaxSlayer Bowl, a January bowl game, is very, very special.”

Sounds like they saw the hand writing on the wall, they would have to get a lot better
to see playing time, being recruited over
Weed out the weak and replace them with more talented players, that’s how you build your program the foundation has to be strong.
The efforts of the players that are leaving are what helped push the starters to be better. Thanks for everything men. Vols For Life.
