Butch Jones appeared on the Paul Finebaum Show on Wednesday, and his message was clear regarding Tennessee’s search for a new offensive coordinator: “Trust me, I’m the caretaker of Tennessee football,” he said.

I wonder if “caretaker of Tennessee football” is something Butch came up with or if the UT PR people provided him with that? It seems people are having a positive reaction to the comment for the most part.

No different than a CEO of a Fortune 500 company. CBJ will make the hire that he feels gives us the best chance to win.
Butch seems to have done alright with his hires to this point. I see no reason to question his decision at this point. Of course, it’s been quite a while since he’s had to hire an offensive coordinator.

He wants it to appear that the program belongs to the fans and the alumni and that we trusted him to run it. He wants us to feel that we have a vested interest in the program.
