Drew Richmond decommits from Ole Miss, expected to sign with Tennessee

Drew Richmond, the Rivals.com five-star offensive tackle from Memphis, decommitted from Ole Miss last night. The news first broke on the Rivals’ site RebelGrove.com, which promptly removed Richmond’s name from its Ole Miss commitment list.

As rumors and speculation continued to swirl, Richmond and Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze seemingly unfollowed one another on Twitter, further suggesting that the original report was legit.

Shortly afterward, 247sports confirmed the initial reports of the decommit and went a step further, stating that Richmond is now expected to sign with Tennessee on Wednesday.

It looks to be a wild finish to National Signing Day 2015.

  1. butch,s first season or so there ws no late movement now flipping over over

  2. Hope we get the big guy! Thanks, FREAK, for not allowing Vol Nation to become a cesspool like rebel grove & some other fan sites have become.

    • Thanks for the compliment. I can’t take the credit, though. It’s a group effort from our members and moderators.

      I appreciate the comment feathersax.

  3. glad to see richmond flip we needed the ot bad ,the Vols are getting loaded with talent they are asking very good players to look else where . i do wish hendrix would have staed

    • Richmond is big, for sure. I’ll feel much better about it after he’s officially signed, though.

  4. I was heartbroken when he committed to ole miss. However, I’m now a firm believer that CBJ invented the gift of gab. GBO! #GAMECHANGER

  5. hopefully the Vols get him, which i’m fairly certain they will, but I’m with Freak,I want the LOI signed

  6. Who could turn down the chance to play with the most outlandish group of young studs…practicing against future NFL D linemen and contending for championships? If he does, indeed, sign with the Vols, then let’s examine this year’s incoming OL class as a body of work. All of a sudden this whole class looks formidable. BTW: Nice job, Freak.

  7. I love what Coach Jones is doing in this class, getting a bunch of great young linemen

  8. Barring debilitating injuries, last years class + this years and what, surely, will follow, could very well have the Vols in the NC pic sooner than most of us imagined. CBJ and staff ROCK!!!
