The Lady Vols softball team earned the No. 8 national seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. As announced on Sunday night, Tennessee will host the Knoxville regional from May 15-17, which includes Longwood, Virginia Tech and Utah.
A total of 12 SEC teams received bids to the tournament, including five of the top eight seeds.
The format is double elimination, with Tennessee facing Longwood at 6 p.m. on Friday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. Friday’s winners will square off at 2 p.m on Saturday
The Lady Vols are 42-14 overall, 15-9 in the SEC, and ranked No. 11 by USA Today/NFCA Coaches poll.

This is far beyond what was expected. TN was projected as #8 in the SEC in the preseason. Well done!
