John Kelly to follow in the steps of Hurd, Kamara?

Tennessee running back’s coach Robert Gillespie tweeted that he was thinking about who the next running back will be to carry on what Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara have begun. To which, sophomore John Kelly was sure to respond…

Kelly played in ten games as a freshman last season for the Vols, rushing for 166 yards and a touchdown (a one-yard rush against Northwestern in the Outback Bowl) on 40 carries.

  1. The one thing Hurd and Kamara have demonstrated is, don’t go down on the first hit, beast mode is what makes the difference between a good back and a great one. John Kelly has the size, the speed, but can he be a 20+ carry per game back……..from what I’ve seen…….yes.

    • One thing is for sure, it will be a difficult task to follow in the footsteps of those two. Thanks for the comment FlyFishnVol.

  2. Kelly might be so good by the time he leaves that they’ll be naming streets after him! He may be so good that the coaches will say, what was we thinking playing Hurd and Camaro in front of him!!!!!

  3. I think CRG is just putting out a recruiting notifier. I’m sure he’s in on a few monsters right now.
