Tennessee’s 2017 Orange and White Game was shortened by inclement weather on Saturday afternoon, but that didn’t stop junior quarterback Quinten Dormady from putting on a show in front of the 35,000 fans in attendance who saw the Orange defeat the White team by a score of 44-29.

Dormady was a perfect 10-for-10 for 120 yards and two touchdowns. His first possession under center, a 10-play 70-yard drive, was capped by a one-yard touchdown pass to Jauan Jennings.
The team’s second drive under Dormady went 75 yards and concluded with a beautifully thrown 19-yard touchdown pass to tight end Eli Wolf.
Redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano finished with four completions on five attempts for 41 yards. He was sacked twice.
Without John Kelly, Tennessee’s rushing attack was severely limited. Sophomore Carlin Fils-aime gained 32 yards on seven carries and Murfreesboro native Taeler Dowdy rushed for 23 yards on eight carries before leaving with what appeared to be a knee injury.
Jennings also left the field gimpy, limping off the field after a Fils-aime rush. There’s been no official word yet on his condition, however, he appeared to be okay on the sideline, according to reports.
In addition to being the most impressive quarterback on the field during the scrimmage portion of Saturday’s game, Dormady also won the quarterback challenge. His long throw into the endzone landed in the target bucket, and he threw an absolute bullseye that hit the cardboard cutout of Jauan Jennings on the Hail Mary throw (meant to replicate the game-winning pass thrown by Josh Dobbs against Georgia last year).
No one really understands the scoring rules, but if you’re interested, here’s a link to the full scoring summary.
