Tennessee bowl projections

As the Bowl Selection Show nears, speculation continues over Tennessee’s bowl fate.

  • The Tennessean outlines possible opponents, including Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Texas and West Virginia. The possible bowls included are: Independence, Liberty, Belk, Music City and Birmingham.
  • ESPN projected matchups for the Vols include West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl and Iowa in the Music City Bowl.
  • USA Today projects Tennessee in the Liberty Bowl against West Virginia.
  • Dr. Saturday (Yahoo!) also predicts Tennessee against West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl
  • According to CBS, Tennessee could play Notre Dame in the Belk Bowl.
  • Tennessee could match up with North Carolina in the Independence Bowl, according to Sporting News.
  • Add another vote for Tennessee and West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl. This one from Sports Illustrated.
  • Football prognosticator Phil Steele believes we might see Tennessee and Duke play in the Belk Bowl.
  • SB Nation pits Tennessee against the Wolfpack of NC State in the Belk Bowl.

    • No kidding. Bowls have been way too few and far between. And to think the last bowl victory was when, 2007 I think?

  2. It still seems to me like the Liberty Bowl is the likely choice. I hope I’m wrong because I think the Belk bowl would be a better destination.
