Tennessee picked up commitment 29 in the class of 2015 on Thursday afternoon when Alpharetta, GA (Milton) linebacker Quarte Sapp pledged his commitment to the Vols. Listed at 6-foot-2, and 200 pounds, Sapp had offers from Michigan State, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Missouri and Ole Miss, among others.
Sapp becomes the third linebacker commit in the Vols’ 2015 class, joining Austin Smith and Darrin Kirkland, Jr.
According to recruiting analysts, 29 seems to be the target number for Butch Jones and staff this year. That’s likely nothing more than an educated guess, however. As was the case last year, no one seems to know exactly how these numbers will work out with possible grayshirts and blueshirts thrown into the mix.
National Signing Day is next Wednesday, February 4th.

SCOUTING REPORTS
ESPN: Sapp is a high upside, athletic prospect who is productive playing between the tackles as well as out in space making him very attractive. Could potentially be a hybrid type prospect as an OLB/DS. Continued growth will likely dictate college position and success.
Chad Simmons (Scout.com): Overall Sapp is an athlete with true upside at outside linebacker. He is a smart young man and a smart player who plays faster than some expect and I love the toughness and aggression he shows. I really like him now, but I like him a lot more thinking about what UT can make him into three years or so from now. The best football is ahead of him for sure.

You can’t help but love what UT has done on the recuiting side. Here is a team that went 7-6 going toe to toe with everyone who have recently have better winning records. Coach Jones and his staff are making some huge strides in loading up with top flight players.
Go Vols!!!
Butch’s recruiting has been impressive to say the least. It looks like back-to-back top-five classes. If, like me, you believe that talent wins games in this league, it’s hard not to like what the Vols are building right now. It’s exciting.
Thanks for the comment FlyFishnVol.
i am very impressed with back to back classes should make the Vols competitive the next 3 or 4 years and going forward. i would have like to see a couple ot ranked high sign with UT and mabey get a nice starter from day 1 on o line, but rest of the class is great .some good quality sec depth tranfered out because they knew no playtime was in their future
Don’t give up on the OTs just yet. It sounds like there may still be hope!
Thanks for the comment VOLtilldeath
i would comment more but some of the younger people make fun of most anything i say.im by far not an old man ,but i been out of school for years and i remember one of the first bowl games i watched was bluebonnet bowl .i have had 3 or 4 different names on volnation been part of volnation since 2009.i kept up with recruiting some in fulmer aerra but i love checking out recruits and thinking about numbers. i like seeing recruits who can lift more weights than i use to ,back in teens and 20 i was benching 425 or 5 sets of 5 360,370,380,390,400 and it was wawaesome i ust hope that barnett dont lift too much weights and get to big he is about srtong enough noe go vols
You should comment more. These younger folks need some wisdom sometimes. Ha.
I remember that Bluebonnet Bowl you speak of. It was against Purdue wasn’t it?
Thanks for the comment, VOLtildeath. Post more often.
