Vols’ defensive tackle Alexis Johnson pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
“He entered a plea of not guilty,” his attorney Gregory P. Isaacs said. “The reason why is because he is not guilty. Our firm is continuing its investigation. We are looking at a variety of statements given by the alleged victim in a number of different forums. Other than that, we can’t comment.”
Johnson is named in the Title IX lawsuit filed against Tennessee for assaulting a woman who declined to have sex with him.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 21st.
