GA LB/DE/ATH Marquez Bembry commits to Tennessee

Tennessee picked up a new football commitment late Monday night from Atlanta, GA linebacker/defensive end Marquez Bembry.

“Proud to say I’ve committed to the University of Tennessee,” he tweeted.

He’s rated as a three star prospect by each of the major recruiting services. Rivals lists him as a weakside defensive end, Scout ranks him as an outside linebacker, and 247 simply shows him as an athlete.

“Some people are recruiting me as an end, some people are recruiting me as an outside linebacker, some people are recruiting me as a tight end or H-back,” Bembry told 247sports after visiting Tennessee’s Junior Day earlier this month. “It’s kind of hard to do all of that at the same time. I would like to focus on the defensive side. I have no problem with playing end or outside linebacker. It’s really the same thing.”
