Linebacker T.J. Minnifee commits to Vols as preferred walk-on

Lebanon, Tennessee linebacker T.J. Minnifee committed to the Vols as a preferred walk-on, he announced via Twitter on Sunday night.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, Minnifee had offers from Jackson State and South Carolina.

  1. Always love it when the in-state guys have the opportunity to play for the Vols. Interesting that Minnifee had a scholarship offer from South Carolina and apparently turned it down.

  2. I know and I’m sure he will end up with a scholarship within the next couple years. Players like him that pass on going to another sec school that has offered a scholarship just to be a preferred walk-on at UT shows they have orange in their blood and will give their all for Tennessee!
