Listed at 5-10, 175 pounds, Wiggins was a four-star prospect in the class of 2013. After two years in Athens, including a redshirt year, he followed defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to Louisville. As a transfer, he was required to sit out in 2014 but started 21 games for the Cardinals in 2015 and 2016.
In January, Todd Grantham decided to make another move and left Louisville to become defensive coordinator at Mississippi State. Two months later, Wiggins announced his plans to follow suit.
“I would like to thank the University of Louisville for allowing me to be apart of such a great University and football program, but I have decided to part ways and transfer elsewhere,” Wiggins wrote on Twitter. “I am very thankful and blessed for all opportunities but this decision is for me and my family.”
With the loss of Cam Sutton, Tennessee needs help in the secondary and Wiggins is expected to compete for playing time right away.
