Jauan Jennings: Vol commit rallies team from 28-point fourth-quarter deficit

Class of 2015 Tennessee commitment Jauan Jennings led his team back from the depths of certain defeat last night.

Trailing 42-14 early in the fourth quarter, Jennings led his Blackman High School squad (Murfreesboro, TN) to twenty-nine unanswered points in the final 11 minutes, scoring a two-point conversion with just 44 seconds remaining to secure the 43-42 victory.

Jennings, who committed to Tennessee on April 7th, completed 24-39 passes and threw three touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 105 yards.

“The only way to describe this game is to say that our kids played with the heart of a champion tonight,” Blackman coach Philip Shadowens told the Tennessean. “I always tell my kids to fight to the end, and tonight was the finest example of that mentality that I have seen in my 21 years.”

The recruiting services list Jennings position as some combination of athlete/dual-threat quarterback/safety and rank him as a consensus four-star player. He’s considered the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee by the 247Sports Composite ranking.
