Combo guard Ramar Smith has decided to join Bruce Pearl and the Tennessee Vols basketball team next year. Smith is rated as the #30 ranked player in the nation by Rivals and the #5 shooting guard in the nation by Scout.
Smith was on campus this weekend and apparently liked what he saw. Most recruiting analysts thought that he was a lock to go to Arkansas and few even thought Tennessee would get a visit. Ramar was rumored to have really liked Stan Heath and the style of basketball they play at Arkansas but Bruce Pearl and his staff have worked their magic once again. He is expected to make an immediate impact next season.
Ramar will join previous signees Duke Crews, Wayne Chism, Josh Tabb, and Marques Johnson in the class of 2007. Many believe that the addition of Smith will vault this class in to a top 10 and possibly top 5 ranking nationally.
Welcome aboard Ramar!
