Do you remember this man? It’s former Memphis Tiger, former Vol, and former Globetrotter Scooter McFadgon. Much to my surprise, Chris Low thinks he could get a shot at the NBA. It’s not April Fool’s Day yet is it?
McFadgon just may get a shot in the NBA if he keeps playing the way he has for the Bakersfield Jam. He was named the D-League Performer of the Week for March 26. He set a D-League record on Wednesday by making 22 free throws on his way to 48 points in a win over the Colorado 14ers.
McFadgon also scored 30 points in Sunday’s win over Los Angeles and averaged 29.7 points for the week while shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 89.2 percent from the free-throw line.
How’s his defense? Or do they not play D in the D-League? I don’t seem to remember him as a lock down defender. Eh, maybe I’m being too hard on ol’ Scooter. I pretty much have a bad taste for most things in the Buzz Peterson era.
At least we agree on one thing, Low went on to note that “his heart didn’t seem to be in it” when he was at Tennessee. Oh yeah, now I’m starting to remember why I wasn’t a big McFadgon fan.
(I just realized tonight that Chris Low had a blog. You can check out his main blog page here. It’s nicely done.)
