Vol fans have heard some comforting words coming out of the mouth of our always quotable coach, Bruce Pearl, today. These were some of my favorite comments… in case you want to read them over and over.
Iowa Given OK to contact Pearl – ESPN
“There are some jobs that are open. Iowa and Michigan are both jobs that in a different time and a different place — like I said, I worked my whole life to be at a place like Tennessee,” Pearl said in an interview with the AP last Friday.
Those are opportunities that you certainly try to get to, but I’m here. I’m in the SEC. I’m at Tennessee. I go to work every day trying to reward Tennessee for bringing me here.”
Pearl not interested in Iowa job – Mike Griffith
“The thing we need in this program is stability. It would be my decision to be at Tennessee for a long time.”
Pearl says he’s happy at Tennesse – ESPN
“I’m putting it out there just as fast as I can because I don’t want it to be a concern of our fans, and I want to demonstrate my loyalty and my commitment to this program. I appreciate very much being here, so I don’t want them to worry about me going anywhere,” Pearl told The Associated Press on Tuesday. “This is where I want to be. I want to be here as long as they’ll be happy with me here.”
Pearl says no thanks to Iowa – Tennessean
“It all happened so fast, but it was over about as soon as it started,†Pearl said. “He laid everything out, and I listened. But I told him thanks, and that was that. It’s done. We have a lot more to do here.â€
