Congratulations to Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols. They had little trouble with SEC West rival Mississippi Tuesday tonight as they rolled to a 98-62 victory. Candace Parker led Tennessee with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Sidney Spencer chipped in 22.
This season the Vols have had an easy road in the tournament thus far. They beat Drake by 39, Pittsburgh by 14, Marist by 19 and now Mississippi by 36. How does Pat feel about their chances in Cleveland?
“There are better teams in Cleveland; there is no doubt about that. There are four great teams and anyone can beat anyone on any given night. It’s just a matter of controlling our own destiny and we are going to have to do that by our play. It’s a battle of wills. If we continue to build on what we did tonight then I like our chances. It is not a team with a lot of limitations if we come to play.
This will be the 17th trip to the Final Four for Tennessee. They play North Carolina on Sunday at 9:00pm.
