The seventh ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (19-8, 4-2 SEC) are in town this weekend for a three game series with the baseball Vols at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Game one begins tonight at 7:00pm. Tomorrow’s game begins at 4:00 and the Sunday finale starts at 2:00. Be sure to get out and support these guys if you can.
Tennessee (17-9, 4-2 SEC) is in the middle of a 10 game home winning streak and is tied for first place in the SEC with Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina. Last weekend the Vols swept Georgia in Knoxville.
The Razorbacks were the preseason favorite to win th SEC Western division as voted by the coaches. Tonight’s starting pitcher will be Nick Schmidt who is 5-0 with a 1.80 ERA. Casey Coon (LF) leads the team with 33 hits and 36 RBIs. Logan Forsythe (3B) is batting a team best .366 and Danny Hamblin (1B) has hit 7 homers.
The Vols are led offensively by Andy Simunic (CF), who leads to team with a .355 batting average, and Yan Gomes (1B), who has 34 hits. James Adkins (3-3, 3.00 ERA) will take the mound tonight for Tennessee.
