Kerry Keating to Santa Clara

kerry keatingFormer Tennessee assistant Kerry Keating has accepted the head coaching position at Santa Clara. Keating leaves UCLA where he had been for the past four seasons under coach Ben Howland and was responsible for helping them achieve back to back Final Four appearances. He is considered and excellent recruiter and a hot commodity in the coaching field.

He will replace Dick Davey who retired this past season after leading the Broncos to a 21-10 finish.

Now 35 years old, Keating was a long time assistant coach under Buzz Peterson. They coached together at Tennessee for two seasons from 2001 until 2003. Before that, Kerry coached with Peterson at Appalachian State from 1998 until 2000 and at Tulsa in 2001.
