Candace Parker Sports Illustrated

candace parkerLast week, it was announced that Candace Parker will be on the cover of a commemorative issue of Sports Illustrated celebrating the Lady Vols 7th National Championship. The issue will be limited to 110,000 copies.

That sparked a great thread by XtennesseeX in our Tennessee Vols Forum about the number of Sports Illustrated Covers that have featured the Vols. I had forgotten about a few of them. Specifically, I didn’t remember the Pat Summitt issue “The Wizard of Knoxville”.

“The Tennessee Waltz” issue featuring Tony Robinson was one of my favorites.

  53. Candace Parker is my biggest idol! I am 5 feet 7 inches in the sixth grade, and hope to reach Candace’s height one day! I have played basketball my whole life and find it as a life goal and I will not stop!!!! When I feel like a just can’t do it or score I think of CP and keep going forward.
