Antonio Bell is a Tennessee Commit

Phillip Fulmer and the Tennessee Volunteer received their seventh verbal commitment for the class of 2008. Daytona Beach (FL), Mainland High School wide receiver Antonio Bell has decided to play his college football for the University of Tennessee.

Bell is a 6’1″ 178lb wide receiver that runs a 4.45 forty. He can squat 385, works out with 205 on his bench press and has a vertical leap of 35 inches. He finished his junior season with 43 receptions for 874 yards and 4 TDs. He was recruited by Tennessee tight end coach Matt Luke.

Most scouts believe Antonio Bell is the real deal. He has great hands and is a very physical player that can take a hit as well as dish one out. He also has the ability to break tackles and possesses big play speed.

Bell is not short on confidence in his abilities. He believes that with the loss of Robert Meachem, Jayson Swain and Brett Smith the Vols are in need of some playmakers at the receiver position and he believes he can fit into that role. He fully expects to be one of the top players in the conference before he leaves Knoxville.

Antonio also had offers from Florida International, West Virginia, Nebraska, and South Carolina. However, he liked Tennessee and Florida when he was younger and wanted to play in the SEC. Bell really liked Matt Luke and I’m sure it didn’t hurt that Tennessee was the first school to offer him a scholarship back in September of last year.
