There was a good interview yesterday on GoVolsXtra($) with Eric Berry. Well good may be a bit generous. Honestly, it was an ok interview at best.
Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t Berry’s fault. It just seemed like the entire interview was taken verbatim from some outdated journalism textbook of top interview questions for athletes. You know the questions: memorable moments, influential people, goals, proudest moment. Get the idea?
One thing did catch my eye before I dozed off. Berry was asked what was his least favorite part of the recruiting process.
A: The text messaging part. People could text you as much as they want. When my bill went over $400 two months in a row, they couldn’t step in and pay for it for those two months. That wasn’t our fault the bill was like that. I was really upset and my mom was too.
I guess we now have some insight as to why Berry decided to commit early. Seriously, does anything about that statement bother anyone but me? How about the “two months in a row” part?
Now I don’t claim to be Einstein or anything but if my kid’s text messaging bill was over $400 one month, you can bet it’s not going to happen again the next month. I would be either disabling text messaging or springing for some type of unlimited plan.
Verizon is a pretty popular wireless phone company. Let’s do the math using them as an example.
Eric Berry’s text bill = $400+
Unlimited IN Messaging PLUS 5000 additional messages = $20
$20 < $400 Jokes and text messaging aside, I am really excited about seeing Eric Berry in orange. R U? I kid, I kid.
