When you give up 20 runs in a baseball game is it safe to say that your pitchers didn’t show up? Uh, I think they should have stayed on the bus. The performance by our pitchers consisted of 20 runs, 11 walks, 5 hit batters and 2 grand slams.
Need I say more? 20-2 is a first class butt-kicking and it’s not the kind of night the Vols were hoping for as they fight to make the SEC Tournament.
Luckily, LSU and Kentucky don’t seem to want to play in the tournament any more than Tennessee does. Kentucky lost to Auburn and LSU was unable to hang with #1 ranked Vandy.
What does that mean? It means that Tennessee controls their own destiny and will still make the SEC Tourney with a win in Saturday’s regular season finale. If we have a replay of today and the three teams fighting for the final spot all lay an egg, Tennessee would still get in.
You think GatorSports could make their headlines any bigger? What are they, blind?
