Baseball Vols fall to Ole Miss

Tennessee’s lone senior Craig Cobb got the call for Thursday’s game against the Ole Miss Rebels but his night was short lived. Cobb gave up 5 runs and was pulled with one out in the first inning. The Vols were in a hole they never could climb out of.

Lance McClain
came on and did a nice job keeping the Rebels in check. He pitched the final 7.2 innings for Tennessee and held Ole Miss to a single run.

The only offense the Vols could muster was a 3-run home run by Tony Delmonico in the 6th. Tennessee loaded the bases in the 7th but was unable to score and Ole Miss held on for a 6-3 victory.

Next up will be a rematch with Vanderbilt tonight at 7:30 in an elimination game.

tEver heard of Houndstooth Condominiums? I’ll give you a hint. They are within walking distance of Bryant-Denny stadium, close enough to “spit on Fulmer”. I don’t know if the ads are all still up but um, well I’m really not sure what to say.

tElsewhere there is lots of news about Vols alumni to check out:

tOnly 99 days until football.
