I know it’s early, but you can’t start getting ready for the Gators early enough. That said, in the spirit of rivalry, I’ve agreed to do a blog swap with a Florida Gator blog named Saurian Sagacity for the September 15th game in Gainesville. That week they will post here on our blog and I will be posting on theirs. I think it sounds like an interesting idea and I’m up for anything that can help hype a game week.
Here is how they explained it to me:
For the upcoming football season we thought we’d try something to promote our blog and those of our rivals and have fun. The idea is called “Blog Swap”. During the week leading up to the game between the Gators and UT we’d pick a day and do a cross-posting. It would essentially be an open-ended guest post where you basically have the eyes of our audience and we have the eyes of yours.
The post would be put up on the morning of the appointed day and remain at the top for the rest of that day.
Of course, there would be ground rules like no use of curse words and we’d do it with the understanding that we respect each other as rivals and in the spirit of sportsmanship. Some topics that could be most heart-breaking loss to the opponent. Most exhilarating win vs. the opponent, best encounter with opponent’s fans (or worst).
Mergz and I are big college football fans and we both really enjoy community that is quickly growing among our fellow college football bloggers. This idea can help strengthen this community further and besides it will be really fun.
