What a crazy day it was around the Southeastern Conference. As I watch the season unfold, I continue to wonder if I’m living in the Bizaro world.
Kentucky 43 LSU 37 3OT. Without a doubt the game of the day in the conference. I’m still not quite sure how the Wildcats pulled this one out over LSWho. I kept waiting for them to implode like they usually do, but it never happened. It’s a great win for UK’s program. Les Miles goes from hero to zero in a single week.
Alabama 27 Ole Miss 24. Bama had to rally late to pull this one out. The Rebs had the ball at the Bama 4-yard line with seven seconds left but it was ruled that the receiver had stepped out of bounds. Without instant replay the outcome might have been different. Get ready for the third Saturday in October.
Georgia 20 Vanderbilt 17. How far has Georgia fallen with they celebrate beating Vandy like they just won the National Championship? It took a late comeback to avenge the last years Dawgs loss to the Dores and stop their Eastern Division slide.
Auburn 9 Arkansas 7. This one gets the award for boring game of the day with 10 of the 16 points being scored in the last 1:36. My philosophy is if you can’t score at least one touchdown in a game then you don’t deserve to win. It also probably hurts McFadden’s Hypesman chances.
Tennessee 33 Mississippi State 21. This one turns out to be the most dominating performance of the day in the conference. The outcome was never really in question in the second half.
South Carolina 21 North Carolina 15. The south prevails as over the ACC as many predicted and South Carolina gains more momentum. Spurrier’s guys continue to win and are most definitely eying a matchup with the Vols in Neyland in two weeks.
