It’s now being reported by several media outlets that Richmond head coach Dave Clawson will be named as the new offensive coordinator at Tennessee. Further confirmation comes from a Richmond news source regarding his departure.
It’s believed that Coach Fulmer had narrowed his search to Clawson and Mike Debord, the former offensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines.
You can read more about Dave Clawson in our post earlier this week. You may also want to check the comprehensive information from the Richmond media guide.
It’s thought that Latrell Scott, who was Clawson’s wide receiver coach, assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at Richmond will join Clawson in Knoxville as his wide receiver coach.
The addition of Dave Clawson, Latrell Scott, and Stan Drayton would leave only one vacancy remaining on the Tennessee staff.
You can discuss Dave Clawson and the coaching changes in our Vols Forum.

Below is an excerpt from Coach Fulmer:
“Dave Clawson brings a great work ethic, high energy and is a great teacher of quarterbacks,†Fulmer said. “His multiple offensive system using the talents of the players available to their fullest has been impressive. He has a great passion for recruiting, which is important for Tennessee, and his experience as a head coach will serve us well.â€
