It hardly seems possible that it could be time for the Vols to play another basketball game already. I’ve not had enough time to finish gloating over the win over Memphis and the #1 ranking in both polls. Let’s hope the players don’t feel the same as they head to Vanderbilt to play the nationally ranked Commodores who would like nothing more than to knock of their top ranked in state rival.

On January 17th at Thompson Boling Arena Tennessee rolled over 16th ranked Vanderbilt by a score of 80-60. Sophomore Wayne Chism led the Vols with 18 points and an astounding 18 rebounds. Vandy trailed by 21 in the second half but used a 15-2 run to trim the lead to 8 but that’s as close as they could get.

Look at the opportunity Tennessee has. In a four game stretch, we can beat our four biggest rivals, 3 of them on their courts, and clinch the program’s first outright SEC title in 41 years.
This stretch will get us ready for the Sec tournament and the playoffs. I can’t see the Vols running the table on the regular season and SEC tournament
Vols, You will have your hands full tonight with Vanderbilt. Lets see how long you will hold your number 1 Title.
Michael, I don’t disagree that Vandy will be a very tough game tonight. Unlike Memphis, just about every game Tennessee plays this season is against a tough opponent who is very capable of winning if the Vols don’t play well.
