The Vols picked up their sixth verbal committment for the class of 2009 and the second this week. Four-star running back Jarvis Giles from Tampa, Florida made his college choice public today announcing that he plans to sign with Tennessee in February.
According to Rivals, Giles ranks #103 on the Rivals 250 and is considered the #2 all purpose back. Among running backs, they rate him as the #5 ‘home-run threat’ and #2 ‘best in space’.
Giles made it clear he planned on going to school outside the state of Florida and had recently narrowed choices to Clemson, Georgia, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The announcement comes just one day after Kevin Revis, an offensive lineman from Rhea County, committed to the Vols.
