Eric knows baseball. The former Vol threw a first-pitch strike to open Sunday’s contest between the Royals and the Cardinals.
It turns out, Berry has a love for the game.
“What you don’t know is that baseball is actually my first love,” Berry said. “I played pitcher all the way up until high school. I played my freshman year and then I decided I really wanted to play football so I stopped.”
Berry told Steven St. John and Nate Bukaty he was 7-0 as a pitcher his freshman year in high school and threw the ball around with his brothers about a month ago.
Berry was congratulated by his catcher (photo), Jeff Francoeur.

I hate to say this, but his photo looks, well, feminine. ๐ lol
Are you saying the great Eric Berry throws like a girl? ๐
Supersmo18, I hate to say it but Eric Berry may be meeting you over the middle soon. ๐
Well played.
Frenchy was a beast for a while in ATL. Luke warm for a bit also, but he’s rippin it up now in KC. I bet they have a lot of mutual respect for eachother both being from GA and being young prodigies and all. Good to see a pic of my favorite players together from different sports. Thanks.
