Evan and Elliott Berry want to play college football together.
“We’ve played on the same football teams our whole lives and want to do the same in college,” Evan told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Any team would be very fortunate to have one Berry on its roster. I’m not sure of the right word to describe having two.
Ever since the college football world witnessed the extraordinary talent of former Vol and now Kansas City Chiefs star Eric Berry, his two younger brothers have been the focus of much attention. Amazingly, they have done their part in living up to the hype so far.
From the AJC:
- Evan Berry is 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, and being recruited at safety and defensive back. Last year as a freshman, Evan played QB and had 80 carries for 973 yards and 10 TDs, while completing 89 of 136 passes for 1,789 yards and 23 TDs with 7 interceptions. On defense, Evan had 30 tackles and 4 pass deflections.
- Elliott Berry is 6-0 and 200 pounds, and being recruited by most at linebacker and some at tailback. Last year, Evan had 71 carries for 799 yards and 6 TDs, while registering 64 tackles and 3 sacks on defense.
A then thirteen-year-old Evan Berry actually committed to the Vols two years ago.
“Yes, I committed to Tennessee,” Evan told Rivals’ Jamie Newberg in June of 2009. “It’s the only college I know right now and it seems the best for me. My dad went there and my brother is there now. I know I can do the same things there. I have a real friendly relationship with the coaches there. I know I don’t know them too well, but I know I will have plenty of time to get to know them.”
Today, two years later, neither claims a commitment to Tennessee, but both are considering the Vols. Will they follow in the footsteps of their brother and father?

Think of Two Berrys’ on the defensive side! Eric was a ball hawk but had to help with the run to much. This is like having 2 EB one to stop the run and the other to ball hawk. WE need them!
Another ball hawk and a linebacker who will separate the ball from the person carrying it. Priceless!!!

EB2 , that would be amazing ! Come join the vols and follow your dad and brothers footsteps! It would be a life long bond between father and sons and brothers that could never be broken. Vol for life! Your dad and brother are , if u want to join them in the Tennessee history books there’s only 1 school that can provide that for you. GO VOLS!
