“Foundation Week” continues on campus as Tennessee picked up a commitment on Sunday afternoon from 4-star linebacker Kevin Mouhon from Norcross High School in Georgia, the same school where current Vol Jason Croom played.
Mouhon is listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds and is rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals, ESPN and 247sports. Scout rates him a 3-star.
Mouhon was primarily recruited by Robert Gillespie, but Butch Jones played a large part in the decision, having coached his older brother at Cincinnati.
The potential for early playing time is also appealing. Based on Tennessee’s current roster, Mouhon believes he will have the opportunity to come in and compete for playing time right away.
Butch Jones and the Vols have been on an unprecedented hot streak this week. It’s Tennessee’s sixth commit since last Sunday and the 24th of the 2014 class.
Tennessee continues to hold the top-rated recruiting class according to three of the major recruiting services: Rivals, Scout and 247sports.

Possesses good size at this stage. Looks to have fairly good thickness already through his lower body with room for further physical development, particularly in his upper body with his arm length. While we see flashes of raw power on contact, he needs to improve playing strength. Might not test overly fast, we see good pursuit speed between the white lines and range that is coveted for a middle linebacker prospect. Has a high motor and will make his presence known at linebacker. Demonstrates that he will give great long pursuit effort.Bottom Line
Overall, Mouhon is a good looking linebacker who lacks ideal size and strength for the middle and the speed and hips on the outside, but he simply produces and is a good, solid football player.
