Tennessee No. 1 on Tim Settle’s top-15

For whatever reason, recruits have been releasing top-15 lists in regards to their potential college destinations lately, and Tennessee has been a popular choice.

5-star defensive tackle and Manassas, VA., native Tim Settle joins Torrance Gibson as the latest recruit to have the Vols sitting atop his list of possible destinations for college.

I don’t know why top-15 lists are suddenly the “in” thing, but I don’t really care, as long as the Vols are on top.

’15 VA DT Tim Settle

At 6-foot-3, 318 pounds, Settle would be a huge get for Tennessee, both literally and figuratively. He’s rated the 24th overall prospect according to 247Sports and 56th overall on Rivals with offers from seemingly everybody in the country.

The first thing that jumps out on tape is Settle’s size and brute strength. He just overpowers poor high school offensive lineman at the point of attack. He uses his hands well and shows good quickness for a guy that big.

The Vols have some stiff competition for Settle, with teams like Bama, Clemson and Florida State lurking — and a long time until signing day — but Tennessee is obviously right in the thick of this recruitment.
